The CryoFall world map as of the R33 update

The CryoFall World consists of a large island, surrounded by salt water, and containing many different biomes and sub-biomes. The world is crossed by Roads, which make travel faster. There are many points of interest to be discovered, including Ruins and Alien Teleporters. For easier navigating, the world map is divided into a coordinate grid, labeled A-J from west to east, and 1-9 from south to north. The CryoFall map is the same across servers, unless playing on a custom map.

Biomes[ | ]

Biomes are large areas of the map that have unique Resources, Creatures, and visual appearance. The following biomes exist on the map:

  • Tropical Forest: Olive Green colored areas in the South-Eastern/Western corners. Least aggressive mobs and also home to rubber trees.
  • Temperate Forest: Pale green in the center of the map. One of the two places to have rubber trees.
  • Ocean Shore: A biome that exists around the entire island. This is the only place to fill a Bottle With Salt Water.
  • Boreal Forest: Green. Northern part of the map. Slightly more dangerous than Temperate forest, but also home to coal among other minerals.
  • Swamp: Moss Green colored area on the Western section of the map. One of the two places available to extract oil in PvP servers.
  • Barren Sandy colored area in the East. Home to dangerous predators, little food, and almost no water. Contains Pragmium and oil deposits.
  • Volcano: Located at the West and North-Eastern sections of the map. Dangerous. Avoid until well established.
  • Arctic: Northern most biome accessible by bridges. Very cold, so cold protection is strongly advised.

There are several quests related to exploring biomes: Explore Biomes - Part One, Explore Biomes - Part Two, Explore Biomes - Part Three and Explore Old Ruins.

Sub biomes[ | ]

Sub biomes are small areas that appear multiple times in the greater biomes.

  • Lake Shore: Small pockets of sand and fresh water inside the mainland. You can acquire Sand, Sugar, or Bottle with Stale Water here.
  • Meadows: Light Green areas inside Forest Biomes that contain high amounts of herbs and gatherable materials.
  • Rocky: Light Brown elevated patches in all biomes that provide valuable materials such as Copper Ore and Iron Ore.
  • Clay Pits: Red/Brown low elevated areas that exist throughout the mainland. Contain high amounts of Clay.
  • Salt Flats: Dark Grey low elevated areas inside the Barren. Contain Salt and, upon a full harvest of a rock, Lithium Salts.
  • Ruins: Grey-Colored incredibly dangerous zones filled with enemy mobs and sometimes hazardous radiation.
  • Alien Teleporter

You can know your location or an element on the map, just open it (M) and then right-click with the mouse on the one you want. Doing so will copy the location to the clipboard. This is a TIP TO SEND if you need it, or even register a biome, access, portal that you want to memorize later.
