Resources

Resources are the primary source of Food and crafting materials in CryoFall. Some resources are plentiful, while some require trips to certain Biomes. Some resources can be harvested without any Tools, while others require an appropriate tool to harvest them.

Small Items

Stones, twigs, and fibrous plants are scattered around the CryoFall world. These items can be instantly picked up by right-clicking to provide a small amount of Stone, Twigs, and Fibers.

Plants

Plants can be gathered from the ground or bushes. Foraging from plants and bushes requires no particular Tools. Unless noted, bushes and plants occur in all biomes except for the Barren. A harvested bush will remain and re-grow its resources over time, while plants and mushrooms disappear when gathered and will not respawn in the same spot. Collecting from plants and bushes improves the Foraging Skill.

Trees

Trees are taller plants that require an axe to harvest. Trees drop Wood Logs and Twigs when cut down. Some trees drop additional resources, as noted. Cutting down trees also has a chance to drop a sapling, which can be used to replant the tree. Cutting trees improves the Lumbering Skill.

Minerals

To mine these resources, you need a Pickaxe. Most nodes are found generally scattered through the World, though they are more frequent in Rocky biomes. Some resources are only found in certain biomes or sub-biomes. Mining mineral nodes improves the Prospecting Skill.

Unlike other mineable resources, Pragmium Sources spawn randomly throughout the Barren biome. The Pragmium source is surrounded by Small Pragmium Nodes that can be mined with a pickaxe. The source is also protected by Pragmium Beetles. While the Pragmium source can be mined with a pickaxe, it explodes when it is destroyed. It is therefore recommended to mine the source with a Mining Charge or Explosives so that the player can escape the blast radius when the Pragmium source is destroyed.
