Food

There are a number of different items in CryoFall which can be consumed to refill food and water meters, from simple berries which can be foraged in the forest to more complex dishes that can be prepared on the stove or kitchen table. However not all food items are safe to eat. Also, most food will go bad at different rates, eventually turning into rot. If the food is ready to rot, you may get sick from eating it. Even then, though, if the food is used in a recipe, the resulting food will start at full freshness.
Eating a certain amount above 100% hunger will cause a warning debuff, followed by nausea, where you cannot eat more.

Max Buffs[edit | edit source]
Because of the limit to the amount of food eaten before nausea, choosing a combination of foods that have high buff percentages and low full percentages is the best way to get multiple buffs for long amounts of time. For example, eating 3 Carbonaras will certainly get you above 100% full but will only net you 100% hearty and 30% savory buffs.
A good combination for buffs is drink 3 coffee (100% Energy buff), then 8-10 cactus drink (+24-30% Full, +80-100% healthy buff), then 2-3 Sushi (+30-45% Full, +40-60% Savory buff), for a total of 54-75% food. You can then safely eat one Meat and Mushroom Stew for +40 food and +60% Hearty buff, or possibly 2 Carbonara for 100% Hearty, up to 80% savory, and nausea.
